About the role

Oversees staff performance, manages staffing, hiring, orientation, and discipline, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manages budgets and resources, maintains appropriate staffing and understands healthcare finance.
  • Learns and supports performance and quality improvement initiatives, implements evidence-based practice changes, and ensures compliance with professional standards and hospital policies.
  • Utilizes critical thinking and technology in decision-making, problem-solving, and integrating new systems to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Provides strong leadership and mentorship, ensures high-quality clinical care, supports staff development, and maintains clear communication and planning for patient care delivery.
  • Encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and maintains positive relationships with patients, staff, vendors, and other departments to ensure patient-centered care.
  • Edits and mentors staff, ensuring adherence to clinical practice models and evidence-based practices.
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Fosters patient, family, staff, and physician satisfaction, understanding its impact on business goals.

Requirements

  • Proven history of positive interpersonal relationship with physicians and hospital staff.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong communication skills in both the written and verbal form.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards strongly preferred.
  • Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) preferred.
  • Collaborates effectively with healthcare team members and participates in departmental goal setting consistent with the hospital's mission.
  • Demonstrates leadership, critical thinking skills, and consistent behaviors and attitudes aligned with the organization's philosophy, mission, and goals.
  • Knowledgeable of state, federal, and regulatory standards guiding nursing services and ensures compliance.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing principles, concepts, and techniques acquired through completion of a BSN and/or MSN program.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care addressing the physical, psychological, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served.
  • Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Required].
  • Master's of Nursing [Preferred].
  • 1+ clinical experience [Required].
  • 1+ years related experience [Required].
  • 2+ leadership experience [Preferred].
  • 2+ years related experience [Preferred].
