About the Role
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and evaluation of nursing care on the assigned med-surg unit. This role ensures safe and efficient delivery of care, assists the Department Director with performance improvement activities, hospital policies, and financial management of the unit.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care provided on the unit.
- Oversee unit activities to support safe and efficient patient care.
- Assist the Department Director in implementing performance improvement initiatives.
- Enforce hospital policies and procedures.
- Manage the unit’s financial performance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a staff nurse on a med-surg unit.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or charge nurse experience.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Active RN license in the state of Texas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
