About the Role

This position leads the implementation of best practice models, patient care delivery systems, and practice standards across multiple locations. Responsibilities include delegating tasks related to patient/family concerns, facilitating collaboration with healthcare providers, monitoring resource needs, managing equipment and supplies, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining clinical expertise. The role also involves collaborating with Nursing Clinical Practice to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and may require technical or supervisory experience in specialty areas such as Operating Room, Emergency Services, Critical Care, or Maternal Child Health.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and advocates for developmental opportunities; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships.
  • Solicits and acts on performance feedback; sets goals and provides coaching to drive performance improvement.
  • Pursues professional growth; hires, trains, and develops talent; evaluates talent for succession planning.
  • Oversees implementation of organizational change, best practices, and industry trends; shares best practices across teams.
  • Fosters open dialogue, motivates teams, and promotes collaboration within and across teams.
  • Delegates tasks and decisions; provides guidance and encourages development in decision-making.
  • Manages units or teams by translating business plans into tactical actions; ensures policy compliance and identifies improvement opportunities.
  • Aligns team efforts; builds accountability and measures progress; resolves escalated issues.
  • Communicates goals and objectives; incorporates resources and forecasts into plans.
  • Removes obstacles impacting performance; addresses improvement opportunities and develops contingency plans.
  • Manages hospital administrative functions, including financial commitments, workflow reports, operational initiatives, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Designs continuous survey readiness activities, including mock rounds and audit documentation.
  • Leads budget management, including payroll and cost control.
  • Manages 24/7 care delivery operations, including strategic partnerships, resource alignment, emergency preparedness, and multidisciplinary team leadership.
  • Leads project teams and initiatives; monitors implementation and resource distribution.
  • Manages improvements to operations and technology processes, including strategic projects, root cause analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Ensures safe, quality, and standardized care delivery; holds staff accountable for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in patient care delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and minimum five (5) years of experience in business operations, clinical healthcare, or a related field.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in a related practice area.

Pay

The posted pay range is $213,000 - $246,400 per year. Actual base pay will be determined based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate's relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
