About the role

The Nurse Manager is responsible for managing the clinical services of the Urogynecology Division within the Department of OBGYN. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining clinical programs that enhance the quality of care and patient/provider satisfaction.
  • Overseeing day-to-day clinical operations in both Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
  • Providing direction and managing professional employees.
  • Ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare through hands-on support and coordination of clinical staff.
  • Maintaining optimum clinical care and effective clinical workflow in response to operational challenges.
  • Reviewing and adjusting clinical schedules to optimize patient flow and address staffing issues.
  • Identifying and addressing performance gaps in staff and providing necessary training or improvement plans.
  • Representing the Urogynecology clinical team in leadership meetings, trainings, and development sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of assigned Urogynecology clinical staff.
  • Tracking, trending, and auditing of clinical performance related to operational metrics and quality measures.
  • Coordination and distribution of clinical staff assignments and schedules.
  • Hands-on support and oversight within the Urogynecology clinical operations at both Norfolk and Virginia Beach locations.
  • Proactive review of clinical schedules to identify and resolve potential issues impacting patient flow.
  • Communicating well-thought-out solutions to alleviate or minimize the impact of operational challenges.
  • Working the clinic floor as needed.

Requirements

  • Licensed Virginia RN (or LPN with equivalent education and/or experience).
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three (3) years of supervisor experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a medical office environment.
  • Progressively more responsible positions in group practice management, preferably in a large specialty group practice.
  • Experience in OBGYN is preferred.
