A Day in the Life of a Nurse Manager

The Emergency & Wound Care Services Manager provides operational leadership and clinical oversight for the Emergency Department and Wound Care services, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care in a rural critical access hospital.

  • Overseeing staffing, performance management, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, budgeting support, and department operations
  • Promoting evidence-based practice and continuous clinical excellence
  • Balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Responding to operational challenges
  • Maintaining regulatory readiness
  • Serving as the department leader in the absence of the Nursing Directors

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience Required:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
    • Current Minnesota RN license
    • American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire
    • American Heart Association ACLS and PALS required within 4 months of hire
    • TNCC required within 1 year of hire
    • Prior leadership experience in a hospital setting is required, with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience preferred
    • Demonstrated success in hospital-based leadership roles
  • Preferred:
    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

The pay range listed above is the estimated starting pay range for this role. Actual pay rate offered depends on many factors including each individual's experience level, preferred education/certifications, along with market conditions.
