Nurse Manager
Stella Maris is a recognized leader in skilled nursing care, including outpatient and short-term rehabilitation, serving residents of central Maryland from our beautiful campus in Timonium, MD.
About the role
The Nurse Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the long-term care unit, reporting to the VP of Nursing and collaborating with the Nursing Management team. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of long-term care experience and proven leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates all nursing care provided to residents on a 24-hour basis, including establishing care plans, conducting resident/family meetings, and ensuring ongoing communication with medical practitioners.
- Manages professional staff, ensuring adherence to facility and departmental protocols.
- Contributes to department efficiency by working flexible hours, providing on-call coverage on a rotational basis, meeting administrative deadlines, and serving as nursing supervisor when required.
- Conducts thorough investigations into risk management concerns, clinical issues, staff matters, and family concerns, reporting findings to the AVP.
- Plans, directs, and supervises nursing care on a 24-hour basis, optimizing staffing and interdisciplinary collaboration to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements
- Active Maryland RN License; BSN preferred.
- CPR certification.
- Thorough understanding of long-term care regulations.
- Experience coordinating resident care and building strong resident relationships.
- Sub-acute/rehabilitation experience highly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive management experience.
Pay
Hourly rate: $43.72–$74.70 USD. Compensation is determined based on internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; higher offers are reserved for candidates with advanced or specialized qualifications.
