Nurse Manager

About the Role
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the operational functions of the nursing unit(s) they oversee, aligning with the mission, vision, strategic imperatives, and standards of Lexington County Health District (LCHD), American Nurses Association Standards, and the SC Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum Years of Experience: 3 years as an RN (at least 2 years in a leadership position/capacity)
- Required Certifications/Licensure:
- Current RN License to Practice in the State of South Carolina
- National Nursing Certification in Specialty at time of hire (or within 6 months of hire/promotion)
- Current CPR certification
Responsibilities
- Provides excellent service to internal and external customers, measuring and monitoring patient/customer satisfaction and developing action plans based on feedback.
- Builds and strengthens relationships through mutual respect, trust, and open communication, fostering collaborative decision-making.
- Serves as a patient/family advocate and models service excellence, holding staff accountable to LMC’s Service Expectations policy.
- Manages human, financial, material, and information resources to accomplish organizational goals, including:
- Human resource management: developing employees, providing feedback, and holding staff accountable.
- Measuring and monitoring employee satisfaction and developing improvement action plans.
- Fiscal accountability and assessing technology needs for assigned areas.
- Ensures high standards of care and practice, including compliance with regulatory standards and implementation of best practices.
- Develops, implements, and monitors work plans with measurable outcomes, adjusting to meet desired goals.
- Acts as a positive change agent, promoting innovation and creativity to improve processes.
- Creates a safe and compassionate environment for patients and staff, addressing concerns promptly.
- Communicates effectively through active listening, conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving, adapting to various audiences.
- Leads with integrity, initiative, and purpose, recruiting and retaining top talent while promoting a positive work environment.
- Ensures compliance with all Lexington Medical Center policies, including safety training, hazardous waste management, and attendance requirements.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
