About the role
Florida Oncology and Hematology is seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care and clinical operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of oncology nursing and clinical operations.
- Communicates with outside entities to assure quality and continuity of patient care.
- Oversees the activities of the clinical areas and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the clinical team.
- Assesses, monitors, and educates all clinical staff on patient care.
- Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
- Affirms compliance with all job breakdown instructions (JBIs) and regulations to the assigned areas.
- Collaborates with the R-DON for nursing concerns, education, etc.
- Ensures completion of daily variance report and resolution of unsigned charges.
- Coordinates with purchasing department to ensure PAR levels are maintained to assure sufficient stock and to minimize waste.
- Manages daily direction and communication to employees so that departmental work is performed in a timely, efficient and knowledgeable manner.
- Participates and completes hiring process including interviewing applicants and assists in hiring decisions with the HR recruiter for any open positions in assigned area.
- Oversees the orientation of new nurses, medical assistants (if applicable), lab (if applicable), and pharmacy technician(s) in collaboration with the nurse, pharmacy, and ancillary trainers.
- Completes and provides performance evaluations for 90 day and annual reviews for nurses, medical assistants (if applicable), lab (if applicable), and pharmacy technician(s).
- Responsible for performance feedback and coaching on a regular basis to team members.
- Reviews and approves time off requests, if appropriate, in a fair manner while ensuring adequate staffing to maintain work productivity.
- Reviews and submits timesheets to payroll for all direct reports.
- Holds monthly departmental staff meetings to communicate any issues or updates.
Qualifications
- Unencumbered RN License in the state of employment or multi-state licensure.
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
- Oncology Nurse certification (OCN) required.
- CPR certification.
- Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings.
- Previous experience in the healthcare field in a clinic or hospital setting.
- Three (3) years of management experience preferred.

- Communication Skills: Good command of the English language. Second language is an asset but not required.

- Leadership and Mentoring: Effectively lead and facilitate group discussions, coach, mentor, motivate, and engage others to align to a common goal. Ability to effectively lead projects from inception through implementation and assessment.
- Human Resources Management: Effectively hire, coach and support staff develop, as applicable, as well as manage resources, performance and employee relations, and supervise within established policies, procedures and legislation.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.
Pay
Pay Range: $67,953.60 - $133,390.40
Schedule
Standard Core Workdays/Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
