Nurse Manager - Ambulatory

Job Summary

Provides leadership and management to all nursing personnel and ancillary personnel within an assigned area or units in a clinical setting. Manages all clinical functions and operations of the assigned area or units. Ensures efficient and effective delivery of clinical patient care and services and ensures compliance with administrative, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manages and directs the operations and delivery of patient care within the budgetary, staffing, and regulatory guidelines, using evidence-based practice.
• Ensures that personnel demonstrate quality standards of customer satisfaction and patient care.
• Manages nursing and ancillary personnel within an assigned area or unit by coaching, educating, consulting, training, and evaluating their performance.
• Plans, schedules, and organizes the work of the assigned area or unit to ensure the proper distribution of assignments and efficient utilization of clinical personnel, space, and facilities.
• Participates in planning, preparing, and prioritizing budgets for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Maintains compliance, investigates variances, and provides plans for remediation.
• Affirms compliance with productivity standards for assigned area/units.
• Engages in ongoing quality improvement activities to enhance the delivery of clinical care.
• Serves on at least one nursing council, hospital, or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or work area.
• Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in nursing and five (5) years of RN experience, two (2) of those years in a leadership role.
• Certifications, Licenses, or Registrations: Valid RN license.
• Preferred Qualifications: Clinical experience in area to be supervised/managed preferred.
