About the role
Covenant Living, the nation’s sixth-largest nonprofit senior living provider, is seeking qualified candidates for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs). This position ensures quality care is delivered through monitoring staff performance, physician contact, care planning, and daily resident observation. It also provides direct care to residents, adhering to nursing standards, procedures, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in routine daily direction and monitor the work of nursing assistants, ensuring a high standard of nursing care and task completion.
- Assist in the orientation of new LPN/LVNs and nursing assistants, reinforcing training standards to maintain high-quality care.
- Communicate regularly with the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing about observations, suggestions, resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, conditions, etc.
- Observe and evaluate residents' health, mental, and emotional conditions, communicating significant changes to appropriate staff.
- When necessary, notify physicians and family members according to prescribed procedures.
- Provide direct patient care as required, including procedures like catheter placement, colostomy care, suction, dressing, naso-gastric tubes, and other treatments.
- Participate in shift reports to ensure proper communication about residents' information.
- Assist in the admission, orientation, and observation of new residents, ensuring that physician orders for diets, therapy, medication, etc., are transcribed and communicated according to procedure.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of licensed practical/vocational nursing.
- Current license, in good standing, as an LPN/LVN in the State.
- One year nursing experience.
- Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.

Pay
Compensation Pay Range: $33.60 - $46.05 per hour.
