Nurse/LPN II

Duties And Responsibilities

• Covers at different centers, supporting health providers in addressing patient health care needs.
• Administers medication and injections accurately, documenting observations in the medical record.
• Intakes patients and performs venipuncture as needed.
• Orders medications, vaccines, and medical supplies as required.
• Checks emergency box monthly and refrigerator temperatures daily.
• Supervises referrals and follows up on patient medical care, including correspondence.
• Aids providers with procedures and clarifies prescribed medical regimens as needed.
• Provides health counseling to patients, including HIV counseling.
• Updates prenatal logbook and addresses abnormal lab results as necessary.
• Maintains nursing competence through continuing professional education and other learning experiences.
• Facilitates related services for health center patients, respecting confidentiality and privacy.
• Complies with Infection Control policies and procedures.
• Works assigned shifts at other locations as directed by management.

Requirements

• At least High School Diploma or GED.
• Current New York State License to practice as a LPN.
• Current CPR Certificate or plan to complete a CPR training course within six months of employment.
