About the Role
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position in an outpatient addiction recovery setting, providing direct patient care and supporting treatment programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic medical services, administer medications (e.g., Methadone, Suboxone), and ensure safe medication delivery according to regulations.
- Conduct assessments for new, quarterly, and annual patients, and respond to medical emergencies.
- Document patient records, medication transactions, and progress notes accurately.
- Educate patients on medications, side effects, and health topics; conduct urine drug screens and tests.
- Monitor patient responses, manage treatment plans, and make referrals for specialized care.
- Participate in case conferences, order supplies, and coordinate patient appointments.
- Respond to emergencies, recognize overdose signs, and manage clinical procedures (e.g., Mantoux tests).
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
- Knowledge of infection control, patient care compliance, and regulations.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and BLS certifications.
Qualifications
Preferred: 2+ years of experience with addiction or mental health disorders and psychopharmacology.
Skills
- Strong understanding of medication management and patient safety protocols.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and provide appropriate care.
- Effective documentation and communication skills.
- Team participation in case reviews and ongoing training.
