About the role
The MDS Nurse is responsible for accurate and timely completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and care planning documentation, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assessing residents' clinical status to support individualized care plans
- Maintaining knowledge of RAI guidelines, PDPM, ICD-10 coding, and regulatory standards
- Collaborating with care teams to ensure assessment accuracy and compliance
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior MDS/RAI experience and knowledge of assessment processes preferred
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Excellent assessment skills; LPN with relevant experience and CPR certification preferred
- Ability to function independently and demonstrate leadership
