Nurse Lead - Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic
Description
Affirms compliance with relevant regulations including MDPH, ADA, The Joint Commission, CLIA, and OSHA. Collects and processes key data according to clinical protocols, answers patient inquiries, and triages calls based on clinical guidelines. Consults with RNs or providers for clarification on unclear areas. Identifies emergent medical situations and provides appropriate levels of care, ensuring patient safety. Coordinates with external payors and case managers. Performs patient flow tasks and assists with specified procedures. Conducts daily quality control checks. Facilitates office quality improvement initiatives. Serves as a medical information resource for patients. Collaborates with physicians and team members to ensure high-quality patient care. Documents patient interactions, data, and services accurately. Performs nursing protocols (First OB, Medication Refill) and supports clinical office staff.
Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with information management, HIPAA, HITECH, confidentiality, and patient rights standards
- Enters appointments with physicians, verifying patient identification with two identifiers
- Documents physician-provided information only, refraining from direct patient interaction without physician supervision
- Complies with Record of Care and Provision of Care Standards
- Provides statements identifying the scribe and ensures physician signature on all entries
- Ensures authentication by the physician before acting on orders in the medical record
Qualifications
Minimum education: Associate's Degree in Nursing Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Credentials / Licensure Required: Unencumbered RN license Experience Minimum: Two (2) years of experience in a medical office setting Demonstrated leadership experience required
