Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and progress toward goals.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to best practices.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, care plans, and post-discharge instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland, or eligibility for licensure by start date.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, on day shifts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Prior acute care or hospital-based nursing experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
- Competence in intravenous therapy, wound care, and patient monitoring.
- Effective interpersonal and team collaboration abilities.
- Time management and organizational skills to prioritize patient needs.
