Lead Clinical RN - Inpatient Psych

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and progress toward goals.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to best practices.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, care plans, and post-discharge instructions.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects to enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland, or eligibility for licensure by start date.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, on day shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Prior acute care or hospital-based nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Skills

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
• Competence in intravenous therapy, wound care, and patient monitoring.
• Effective interpersonal and team collaboration abilities.
• Time management and organizational skills to prioritize patient needs.
