Nurse Intern- OB Postpartum
About the role
Join our Obstetrics/Postpartum Unit, 2B at MetroHealth Main Campus. This unit primarily serves postpartum mothers and their newborns, utilizing skills such as IV insertion, postpartum/newborn assessments, time management, education, and delegation.
Responsibilities
- Utilize primary skills in postpartum/newborn assessments and IV insertion.
- Work closely with Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, OT/PT, Social Workers, and the Anesthesia team.
- Manage and delegate tasks effectively.
- Support the care of approximately 27 beds, including 14 bay nurseries.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
- Completed fundamentals of nursing.
- Currently registered in clinical rotations.
- Continuous enrollment in a nursing program.
- Eligibility to continue in the position is a maximum of 6 months upon graduating from nursing school.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include being enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing, completed fundamentals of nursing, currently registered in clinical rotations, continuous enrollment in a nursing program, eligibility to continue in the position for up to 6 months after graduation, and a current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtaining within 90 days of hire.
