About the role
The instructor works under the supervision of the Program Director and is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the philosophy and objectives of their program. The instructor designs, implements, teaches, evaluates, and revises the program's curriculum and related educational materials as assigned for the delivery of both residential and distance education courses.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the development and evaluation of student admission, progression, retention, graduation and related program and college policies.
- Acts as a resource for students, providing support, remediation, academic advisement and counseling, and referral as needed.
- Engages in scholarly pursuits to enhance metaprofessional skills and support learning in the areas of educational theory, instructional design and delivery, assessment, and systematic evaluation relative to both residential and distance education methods.
- Maintains professional competence in their specific discipline through activities such as practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing.
- Participates in community and institutional service activities which contribute to the mission of RHS and RCHC.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree, Nursing (Required)
- 3-4 years recent (within last 5 years) clinical experience or teaching in the specified field or a combination of the two prior to hire date (Required)
- Experience in a clinical educational setting (Preferred)
- Formal didactic teaching experience (Preferred)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
