Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Extern role at HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge is designed to provide hands-on experience for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse. Key responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, performing basic nursing tasks, documenting care, and promoting patient education and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
• Perform nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures
• Document care accurately and communicate timely updates with the nursing team
• Help patients and families understand their care plans and offer guidance for their health and recovery
• Keep patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
• Engage in learning opportunities, share ideas to improve care, and develop a personal career development plan

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• A basic associate degree or bachelor's degree in nursing is required
• No travel required

Pay and Schedule

The hourly wage range for this position is $22.05 - $29.78 per hour. The typical candidate is hired below the midpoint of the range.
