Nurse Extern | PRN | Emergency Room

About the role

Nurse Externs work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. They perform multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for patients' personal needs, comfort, and safety.
• Affords assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and walking.
• Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures.
• Serves and collects food trays and provides patients with between-meal nourishment.
• Records temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled Nursing Student in an accredited Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) program.
• Basic Life Support with American Heart Association is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Pay

• Hourly pay rate based on the Pay Grade Health-21.

Schedule

• Rotating schedule.
• Work 12 hours every two weeks (bi-weekly minimum).
• Available to work additional shifts as needed.

Additional Information

• PRN Status Clause: PRN / “as-needed” means you are not guaranteed a fixed schedule or hours. You work when they have needs in the schedule.
