Nurse Extern PRN ED

About the role

The Nurse Extern at TriStar Centennial Medical Center is a temporary position designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program who wish to gain practical experience under the supervision of registered nurses.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in his/her department.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
• Document patient care information in the appropriate computer screens.
• Assist with ADL’s for assigned patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current (Obtained/maintained within time frames required by hospital policy).
• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program.
• Can be considered for Nurse Extern after completion of first nursing semester or CNA in first semester of RN program.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
