About the Role
The Nurse Extern PRN provides high-quality, patient-centered care under RN supervision, assisting with basic nursing tasks, activities of daily living (ADLs), vital signs, and patient comfort. They support wound care, specimen collection, and maintain a safe, organized environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care and document accurately.
- Communicate effectively with the care team.
- Educate patients and families.
- Promote infection control practices.
- Engage in learning opportunities to develop skills and contribute to care improvements.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree) with at least 6 months remaining before graduation.
- Completion of Fundamentals of Nursing coursework.
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Able to work a minimum of 24 productive hours monthly.
