Nurse Extern Orthopedics PRN

About the role

As a Nurse Extern, you will be an integral part of the nursing team, gaining hands-on clinical experience while providing safe, compassionate patient care. Your duties include assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, performing basic nursing procedures, documenting care, and educating patients and families about their care plans. You will promote a clean, safe environment by following infection prevention protocols and managing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities such as hygiene, mobility, and vital signs
• Perform basic nursing tasks like wound care and specimen collection
• Accurately document patient information and communicate updates to the healthcare team
• Support patient and family understanding of care plans
• Maintain infection control standards and a safe environment
• Engage in learning opportunities and collaborate with supervisors to develop your nursing skills

Qualifications & Skills

• Current enrollment and good standing in an accredited nursing program
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment
