Nurse Educator - Staff Development Coordinator

About the role

The Staff Educator is responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating educational programs within the Nursing Department, including on-the-job training and orientation for new employees. They ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, coordinate mandatory in-service trainings, and serve as a resource for staff on topics like infection control and safety. The role involves maintaining licensure, coaching staff on competency, supporting career development, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous learning. Additionally, they foster employee growth, recognize staff achievements, and uphold resident and employee confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate educational programs and staff training.
• Ensure timely completion of mandated in-service and competency testing.
• Coordinate new employee orientation and ongoing professional development.
• Act as a resource for educational needs and safety practices.
• Support career advancement initiatives and promote staff participation in educational programs.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including documentation.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse licensure.
