Nurse Staff Development Coordinator
Location: Cary, NC
Salary: $70,000-$75,000 annually
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
Rotating weekend leadership coverage approximately once per month

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Development Coordinator to join a skilled nursing and long-term care team in Cary, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys education, mentorship, staff development, and clinical leadership. In this key role, you will help shape the quality of resident care by leading nursing education, new-hire orientation, competency assessments, regulatory training, and ongoing professional development for the clinical team.

Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver ongoing clinical education and training programs for nursing staff
- Lead new-hire nursing orientation and support successful onboarding of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other clinical team members
- Conduct competency assessments and identify opportunities for additional staff education
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development to frontline and clinical leadership staff
- Partner with nursing leadership to establish educational goals based on clinical outcomes and staff development needs
- Ensure required training and educational programs meet local, state, and federal regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate training records, educational logs, competencies, and compliance documentation
- Help ensure the facility remains prepared for surveys and regulatory reviews
- Support employee engagement and retention through effective orientation, education, and mentorship
- Collaborate with facility leadership on interdisciplinary training and clinical initiatives
- Introduce evidence-based practices and creative educational strategies to improve resident outcomes
- Provide direct resident care and clinical support when needed
- Serve as a positive clinical resource and role model for nursing staff
Requirements
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
- Minimum 1 year of leadership, supervisory, management, or clinical nurse educator experience
- Current CPR certification
- CPR Instructor certification is a plus or willingness to obtain
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations governing skilled nursing and long-term care facilities
- Knowledge of mandatory staff education and training requirements
- Strong communication, leadership, teaching, and organizational skills
- Ability to mentor and engage nursing staff at all levels
- SPICE/Infection Control certification preferred
- Ability to participate in rotating weekend nursing leadership coverage approximately once per month
