Nurse Educator (NPDP) - Inpatient Oncology

Scope of Position
The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) practitioner provides ongoing support to the transforming healthcare landscape. The NPD practitioner functions as a nurse leader in an interprofessional environment, applying evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and patient values to improve patient outcomes. The NPD practitioner engages in environmental scanning to continuously assess potential professional practice gaps. By using various sources of data, the NPD practitioner identifies learning needs that include but are not limited to emerging issues, new or updated evidence-based guidelines, comparison of current performance and/or outcomes with national databases, and use of new tools and techniques.

Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and master's in a related field (e.g., MHA, Nursing Education)
- Two years of nursing experience
- Current Ohio RN license
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology RN experience
- Strong leadership skills, effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Interest in learning and teaching new skills
- Recent teaching experience through employment or community activities
- Experience with, commitment to, and competence in dealing with diverse adult populations
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
About the Role
The Oncology Nursing Professional Development Practitioner will support the James education department and inpatient acute care units. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) with variable hours based on need (day flex). The position is ideal for a passionate educator committed to advancing clinical practice and supporting staff development in a leading cancer care environment.
