About the Role
The Nurse Educator in Critical Care is a registered nurse responsible for staff development, clinical education, and ensuring quality patient care in ICU and Step-Down units.
Responsibilities
- Assess staff educational needs and develop individualized and group learning plans.
- Serve as a clinical expert, practitioner, and consultant to foster staff development.
- Assist in onboarding, orientation, and evaluating nurses and healthcare staff.
- Support the Nurse Residency Program and participate in shared governance.
- Ensure adherence to Standards of Care, policies, and standards from professional organizations.
- Provide clinical guidance and act as a change agent within the organization.
- Support other departments as needed, demonstrating clinical competency aligned with critical care standards.
Requirements
- BSN required; Master's preferred in Nursing or Nursing Education.
- Minimum two years' experience in Critical Care.
- Active RN license (NJ or compact with NJ endorsement) and BLS certification.
- CCRNe or PCCN certification required; Nursing Professional Development certification preferred.
- Proven teaching ability and strong clinical expertise in Critical Care settings.
