About the Role
The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) practitioner enhances nurses' competencies through ongoing education, role development, and practice transitions in a patient-focused, diverse, and inclusive environment that supports professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate orientation programs for nurses.
- Manage and assess nursing competencies.
- Provide ongoing education and training.
- Foster role development and practice transitions.
- Build collaborative partnerships across departments.
- Support inquiry initiatives and evidence-based practice.
- Serve as a change agent, mentor, and learning facilitator to improve practice quality and population health.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Active Texas RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience, including 1 year in an acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN).
- Experience with accreditation programs.
