Nurse Educator
About the role
The Nurse Educator is responsible for delivering Fello’s Certified Medication Technician (CMT) trainings and other nursing-related educational programs to new and existing employees.
Responsibilities
- Deliver initial certification courses and competency evaluations
- Conduct ongoing skills training to ensure staff are prepared to safely administer medications and perform delegated nursing tasks
- Develop and maintain nursing training curriculum
- Prepare instructional materials
- Coverage for Nurse Case Managers and Delegating Nurses during leave and vacancies, including on-call coverage as needed
Requirements
- Five or more years of professional experience providing nursing services for people with disabilities in a community-based setting
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Knowledge of outcome systems and electronic medical records
- Ability to remain flexible, calm under pressure, and adaptive
- Strong clinical nursing skills and the ability to translate those skills into education and training
- Excellent oral and written communications and strong interpersonal skills
- Current State of Maryland RN license from the Board of Nursing and certification as a trainer for the Medication Technician Training Program (MTTP), or the ability to obtain that certification within three months of hire
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing is strongly preferred
