Nurse Assistant Surgical
About the Role
As our Nurse Assistant, you will help nursing staff deliver individual patient care so they can maintain standards of nursing practice and contribute to a compassionate, healing environment for patients, families, and visitors. You will provide direct patient care, assist with daily living activities, and ensure patient stability while adhering to St. Alexius Medical Center's mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient personal care and hygiene, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and assistance with mobility (ambulation, lifting, transferring).
- Manage patient comfort, including bed making, skin care, and assisting with bowel/bladder elimination.
- Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for various procedures and examinations.
- Perform, monitor, report, and accurately document all assigned clinical activities, escalating changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse.
- Assist nursing staff with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, including managing belongings, providing comfort items, orienting patients/families, and transporting patients.
- Contribute patient information to the interdisciplinary plan of care and document relevant patient data according to unit standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and ability to comprehend medical terminology.
- Currently listed on a Nurse Assistant Registry operated by the North Dakota Board of Nursing, OR eligible for immediate placement upon hire.
Qualifications
Preferred: Hospital or aide experience.

Pay
$15.00 - $20.12 per hour.
A $3,000 employment incentive is offered to new hires who meet eligibility requirements.
