About the role
This position is located at the Fargo VA Health Care System in Fargo, North Dakota.
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and provide IV sedation, conduction anesthesia or general anesthesia for patients.
- Perform preoperative evaluation for surgical patients.
- Participate in a team approach to ensure appropriate patient assessments, anticipate patient care needs, prevent avoidable complications, and achieve optimal patient conditions.
- Act in adherence of nursing care in accordance with ethical principles.
- Function within the scope of practice as delineated by the Chief of Anesthesiology in collaboration with the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS), Surgical Care ICC.
- Participate in an even distribution of call as determined by the Chief of Anesthesiology/Chief CRNA in collaboration with the ACOS, Surgical Care ICC.
Requirements
- Completed appropriate training and demonstrated proficiency in administering various anesthesia procedures.
- Basic Life Support Certified (certificate required).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (certificate required).
Skills
- Proficient in administering inhalation therapy.
- Skilled in managing fluid, electrolyte, and metabolic disturbances.
- Capable of inserting various types of catheters and blocks.
