Nurse Aide, Wilkes-Barre Rehab Hospital (PT Days)

This posting is for a Nurse Aide (NA) position, not the CNA training class.

About the role

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager, Supervisor, or delegate in charge of the team/unit, the NA assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients, and helps maintain a safe and clean environment. The NA must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients from adolescence through geriatric age groups, including understanding principles of growth and development over the life span. Care is provided in accordance with the Nursing Department's policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience as a Nursing Assistant preferred
• Must be sixteen years of age or older
• Must be CPR certified or willing to become CPR certified
• Good written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills for effective relationships with patients, visitors, and hospital personnel
• Must maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Must successfully pass the Certified Rehabilitation Nursing Assistant test within the orientation period
• Required to float between units and locations
