Nurse Aide Adjunct

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in face-to-face format that prepare students for nursing aide certification.
• Teaching the equivalent of 7-12 credits hours per semester.
• Engage students in the learning process.
• Supervise students in clinical settings.
• Participate in course and curriculum revision.
• Maintain accurate student files.
• Represent Brightpoint Community College at community events and professional opportunities.
• Assist the agency or state government in emergencies as needed.

Requirements

• Registered nurse with a current, unrestricted license in Virginia or a multistate licensure privilege.
• Two years of experience as a registered nurse within the previous five years.
• At least one year of experience in long-term care facility services.
• Experience in the care of the geriatric population.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to teach a variety of day, evening, weekend classes.
• Flexible to work at any of the College’s locations.

Qualifications

• Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check.
• Ability to use instructional technology.
• Experience teaching at the post-secondary college level.
• Experience with the Virginia BON regulation regarding Nurse Aide education programs.
