About the role
Provide skilled nursing care and perform related nursing services for clients, including inpatients and outpatients.
Responsibilities
- Observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients.
- Administer prescribed medications, treatment plans, and emergency care procedures for students, staff, and visitors.
- Provide health education, including counseling and prevention.
- Establish a compassionate environment by offering emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
- Provide first aid and/or CPR.
- Document patient care and services, including clinical appointments, treatment records, Medicare reimbursements, diagnostic evaluations, and programs.
- Adhere to therapeutic standards and plan/implement patient care goals.
- Measure health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; make or recommend necessary adjustments.
- Follow standards of care set by the State Board of Nursing, Ohio Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency regulations.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Use equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintain nursing supplies inventory and anticipate needs, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
- Provide health screenings and preventative programs.
- Maintain cooperative relationships among healthcare teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem-solving.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio, issued by the Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of the Ohio Revised Code.
- Must pass the Sign Language Proficiency Interview at the Survival level within one year of hire.
Skills
- Nursing and medical expertise, including medical charting, medical records, and medical terminology.
- Medication management.
- Attention to detail, confidentiality, decision-making, observation, and responsiveness.
Benefits
This is a classified, part-time position represented by Union 1199.
Pay
$36.01 per hour.
Schedule
Part-time, 1st shift.
