Nuclear Structural Engineer (Engineer Structural 3)

About the Role

This position is for a Structural Engineer supporting nuclear and manufacturing projects within a defense-focused organization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a structural subject-matter expert (SME) resolving technical issues and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Perform technical reviews, develop bills of materials (BOMs), and maintain 3D models.
• Analyze and develop structural specifications involving various materials and systems.
• Assess damage tolerance, durability, safety, and structural modeling.
• Apply expertise in dynamics, loads, stability, stress, fatigue, and thermal analysis.
• Utilize digital modeling tools like CATIA, Siemens NX, and analytical software for communication and production support.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or more with advanced degrees.
• Experience in the nuclear industry, manufacturing, and structural components.
• Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with quality standards.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with structural fabrication or Tekla software.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Ability to work in diverse environments, including confined spaces.
• Capability to handle physical tasks such as climbing ladders.
