About the Role
This position is for a Structural Engineer supporting nuclear and manufacturing projects within a defense-focused organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a structural subject-matter expert (SME) resolving technical issues and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Perform technical reviews, develop bills of materials (BOMs), and maintain 3D models.
- Analyze and develop structural specifications involving various materials and systems.
- Assess damage tolerance, durability, safety, and structural modeling.
- Apply expertise in dynamics, loads, stability, stress, fatigue, and thermal analysis.
- Utilize digital modeling tools like CATIA, Siemens NX, and analytical software for communication and production support.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or more with advanced degrees.
- Experience in the nuclear industry, manufacturing, and structural components.
- Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated environments.
- Familiarity with quality standards.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with structural fabrication or Tekla software.
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to work in diverse environments, including confined spaces.
- Capability to handle physical tasks such as climbing ladders.
