Nuclear Security Officer - Armed
About the role
The Nuclear Security Professional at Allied Universal provides physical protection of nuclear power generating facilities against intrusion and acts of sabotage. This role involves conducting stationary guarding, foot and/or vehicle patrols, controlling access and egress, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, composing reports, and deterring criminal activity.
Responsibilities
- Identify safety and/or fire hazards and make recommendations for improvement
- Report degradation, deficiencies, and accidents in accordance with current procedures and take appropriate corrective actions as directed by Security force Supervision
- Control access of personnel, vehicles and materials into the protected area and maintain appropriate log
- Maintain and operate security equipment including CCTV, plant surveillance equipment, and alarm systems
- Compose and submit incident reports and other necessary documentation
- Deter criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violations
- Participate in ongoing training and qualification programs as outlined in the nuclear training and qualification plan
- Follow post-orders and additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Licenses and certifications are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
Qualifications
- Formal education, licenses, and certifications are not required but may be beneficial
- Knowledge and skills required include sound business judgment, dispute resolution, negotiation, strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational abilities, excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills

- Ability to work scheduled twelve-hour shifts
