About the role

The Nuclear & Safety Americas Group Controller will manage the accounting departments in partnership with the Global Controllership and Financial Planning teams. This role requires a finance expert with strong business acumen to ensure sound economic decisions and provide financial performance reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to internal management and shareholders. The Controller will establish processes and controls compliant with PCAOB and SOX standards and drive continuous process and organizational performance improvements across the Group's site locations. The position reports directly to the Nuclear & Safety Americas CFO and has a dotted line to the Mirion Chief Accounting Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted business partner for leadership, providing financial and operational accounting expertise for new commercial offerings and strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in technical accounting areas, including revenue recognition, inventory, and other key working capital areas; maintain technical advice and documentation via the Controllership Watch List.
  • Establish consistent accounting procedures, controls, and financial data compilation across the Group’s various sites.
  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly close processes to ensure timely and materially accurate execution.
  • Provide leadership for financial process and system improvements within the business.
  • Ensure financial data complies with US GAAP principles.
  • Drive on-time execution and issue resolution for the annual audit.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls to verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data in compliance with Public Company standards.
  • Oversee accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, including internal and external consolidated monthly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets.
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled monthly in accordance with the global close process.
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers, management, clients, and others.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 10+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • CPA certification.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP principles.

Skills

  • Strong financial process and management skills.
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to dig deep and resolve issues.
  • Strong technical accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with periodic remote work.
  • Routine use of standard office equipment.
  • Occasional travel required, with heavier travel at the start of the role to assess current Controllership operations and learn the businesses.
