Nuclear Project Officer (NEA), P3, US-Funded Cost Free Expert

About the role

This position involves paid relocation to Vienna, Austria. It is not remote.

Responsibilities

• Manages projects and organizes and conducts workshops, training courses, and technical and consultancy meetings.
• Reviews and maintains detailed schedules of project activities, tracks resources, and prepares project reports.
• Extracts, prepares, and consolidates data from in-house and external sources for reporting purposes.
• Develops and maintains databases and toolkits.
• Analyzes problems arising in project implementation and proposes solutions.
• Affirms project results against performance indicators, identifies lessons learned, and contributes to project reports.
• Liaises with other organizational groups within the IAEA, including Nuclear Safety and Security and Technical Cooperation.
• Participates in working groups and one-to-one meetings with other groups.
• Collaborates with TC on the implementation of TC-funded projects.

  Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least five years of working experience in the field of nuclear energy, with at least three years in non-electric applications.
  • Experience on safety and institutional aspects of non-electric applications of nuclear energy is desirable.
  • Experience in a national or international nuclear organization is desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English.
  • Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.
