Responsibilities
- Makes independent decisions applying extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the management of assigned projects.
- Develops and maintains close working relationships with clients, including professional and social interactions with key home office and site individuals.
- Serves as a liaison between the client and the company, identifying client needs and expectations, including upcoming major projects, and communicating these to the applicable individuals.
- Communicates client feedback regarding work performance and facilitates process improvements, as appropriate.
- Works with clients to address and resolve issues related to project scope changes, quality of services, cost, or schedule.
- Collaborates with Discipline Engineering Managers and Account Managers to develop project scope, approach, technical assumptions, staffing, schedule, and pricing.
- Maintains oversight of all ongoing projects, including monitoring budget, schedule, scope changes, review of deliverables relative to scope and client expectations, participation in company weekly schedule meetings, and preparation of monthly status reports.
- Maintains contractual requirements, addresses and resolves contractual issues, initiates contract changes, and facilitates payment for services.
- Reviews, approves, and corrects (as needed) invoices for project work.
- Understands and communicates client's processes and procedures to company staff, facilitating training when necessary.
- Has practical knowledge of routine precedent design and working knowledge of engineering principles for applicable solving problems.
- Coordinates projects from earliest phases through design, issuance of construction drawings, and final project completion close-out.
- Prepares Project Plans, budgets, and schedules and is responsible for controlling the project scope, budget, and schedule.
Qualifications
- Education: BS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is required. MS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is desired.
- Experience: 10 years (minimum) of experience with design engineering, project management, and client relations is required. Experience with operating plant procedures, processes, budget analysis, and budget forecasting is required. All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel, and Power Point is required with competency in software applications for email and databases. Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently. Knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques is required.
- Other Required Qualifications: All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel, and Power Point is required with competency in software applications for email and databases. Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently. Knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques is required. Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, processes as well as those financial obligations that would apply to projects. Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required.
