Nuclear Project Engineer II
About the role
The Project Engineer II is responsible for the technical oversight of engineering activities for simple to complex design projects. They maintain a close working relationship with Project Managers, Project Engineering Managers, Supervising Discipline Engineers, and Managing Discipline Engineers to ensure superior engineering performance.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates the design of a technically sound, safe and operable facility with a high degree of reliability, demonstrating a robust technical command, organized administration of design requirements, and efficient execution of design activities to meet safety, scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements, ensuring adherence to industry codes, regulatory requirements and sound engineering practices.
- Implements the project's technical work plan in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW), technical and functional requirements.
- Works with Supervising Discipline Engineers to define scope, labor-hour requirements and schedules for each discipline consistent with the project requirements.
- Leads multi-discipline technical coordination meetings, which includes interfaces with the customer.
- Affirms proper documentation of meetings, agreements, conversations, etc. that affect the conduct of the project.
- Serves as direct line manager for RFIs and supplier submittal review packages.
- Prepares and submits reports and forecasts on the status of Engineering to the Project Manager / Project Engineering Manager.
- Prepares and issues Engineering Execution Plans (e.g., pre-job briefs), and ensures that all necessary and appropriate customer requirements, procedures and standards are incorporated.
- Reviews and reports on engineering performance on the project to ensure quality, conformance with conceptual design and completeness of engineering tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from a four-year ABET accredited university.
- 10+ years total engineering experience with at least 3 years of this experience in a supervisory role.
- Must have a Professional Engineering License(s) in Good Standing, with ability to obtain licensure in various states.
Qualifications
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
- Knowledge of quality requirements such as NQA-1.
- Experience in Process and Utility design.
- 3D Modeling / Plant Design Capabilities.
- DOE projects or DOE Laboratory Experience.
- Commercial Nuclear Experience.
Skills
- Demonstrated experience in: Multi-discipline work coordination, leading technical teams in an Architectural / Engineering (AE) setting, specifically in disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Chemical/Process, Electrical, Controls, Specialty Design, throughout the full EPCm lifecycle.
- Candidate must be able to discuss past or current experience leading multi-discipline groups (example: lead a team of engineers in working groups such as Civil/Structural/Architectural, Mechanical/Piping/HVAC).

Pay
Hiring salary range: $145K - $175K (Annually)
Schedule
Position will require 25% travel.
