Nuclear Medicine Technologist - McLeod Cardiology Associates - PRN
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnosis procedures to assist the physicians, while adhering to radiation safety policies and functioning as a liaison between the patient and physician.
- Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients by I.V. injections, inhalations, or oral administering.
- Performs full range of nuclear medicine dynamic, static, SPECT imaging process.
- Maintains compliance with radiation safety policies and documentation requirements for waste disposal and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Calculates quantity of radiopharmaceutical activity and volume to be administered during procedures.
- Explains procedures to patients. Obtains appropriate Consent.
- Communicates patient’s status and information to the appropriate physician.
- Identifies and ensures quality control measures for imaging and surveying equipment, dosing and radiation safety monitors, and recording results.
- Verifies scan quality and performs computer image and date processing.
- Affords assistance in maintaining laboratory inventory and ordering supplies.
- Assays specimens and prepares standards in scintillation counting systems, performs calibration and records results.
- Schedules patients for exams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Training and/or experience in techniques of radiation safety, radiopharmaceuticals preparation and computer processing techniques for patient examinations.
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are required.
- Completion of a formal Nuclear Medicine Training Program.

- Licenses and Certifications: Cert Nuclear Med Technologist Basic Life Support
