About the role
Sentara Imaging Center at Sentara BelleHarbour, in Suffolk, VA, is currently hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist II for a Part Time, Day Shift.
Responsibilities
- Conducts general Nuclear Medicine imaging of patients within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician.
- Positions patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology.
- Prepares, manages doses, and administers radiopharmaceuticals and radioisotopes.
- Operates radiation producing equipment and electronic radiology systems.
- Prepares patient room and equipment.
- Provides patient and family education and maintains adequate supply inventory.
- Explains examination procedure and discharge instructions to patient and completes departmental documentation.
- Complies with all radioactive activity monitoring and documentation.
- Performs to all quality control and quality assurance standards as prescribed by state, federal, and local agencies.
Requirements
- Trade School degree in Radiologic Technology or Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine (Required)
- ARRT or CNMT certification (Required)
- BLS certification
