About the role
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic imaging studies and administers radiopharmaceutical therapies using Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and departmental protocols.
Responsibilities
- Review radiology orders, patient histories, and lab results to ensure accurate and necessary exams.
- Perform IV placements and pregnancy screenings.
- Critique imaging quality for optimal diagnostic results.
- Transfer images to PACS and verify data for radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain equipment and supplies while ensuring safety standards for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Instruct students and support other imaging modalities as needed.
- Perform cross-trained responsibilities and additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- College diploma or certification in radiologic technology.
- Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in Illinois.
- Certification as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) within one year of hire.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
