Nuclear Medicine Technologist

About the role

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic imaging studies and administers radiopharmaceutical therapies using Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and departmental protocols.

Responsibilities

• Review radiology orders, patient histories, and lab results to ensure accurate and necessary exams.
• Perform IV placements and pregnancy screenings.
• Critique imaging quality for optimal diagnostic results.
• Transfer images to PACS and verify data for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain equipment and supplies while ensuring safety standards for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Instruct students and support other imaging modalities as needed.
• Perform cross-trained responsibilities and additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• College diploma or certification in radiologic technology.
• Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in Illinois.
• Certification as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
