Under the supervision of a radiologist and direction of the Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist, this position competently performs imaging on nuclear medicine equipment. Responsibilities include following scanning and imaging protocols, recognizing cross-sectional anatomy, performing scans, and injecting isotopes where applicable. The role ensures service excellence and compliance with hospital policies and procedures, and uses RIS/PACS and HIS for proper recording and dissemination of patient exams.
Responsibilities
- Perform imaging on nuclear medicine equipment following established protocols.
- Recognize cross-sectional anatomy and perform scans.
- Inject isotopes as applicable.
- Provide service excellence and comply with hospital policies and procedures.
- Use RIS/PACS and HIS systems for recording patient exams and disseminating results.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of examinations based on clinical information.
- Plan, organize, set goals, and objectives for review and evaluation.
- Change procedures and/or perform additional studies to evaluate and demonstrate areas of concern for optimal diagnostic exams.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of an AMA-approved and accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Recent, up to one year, hospital-related experience.
- Digital Imaging and post-processing PACS experience.
Qualifications
- Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (N.M.T.C.B.) or ARRT certification.
- Current Vermont state NMRT license.
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
- Must obtain 24 ECE credits in a two-year period for re-certification and licensure.
- Advanced assessment skills pertinent to the specialty area.
- Intermediate Microsoft desktop application skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Pay
Hourly wage range: $38.91 - $56.68.
Competitive shift differentials: $4.25 for 2nd shift, $8.00 for 3rd shift, $4.75 for weekend shifts.
