Responsibilities

• Utilize latest medical equipment and technology to obtain functional images.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals while ensuring compliance with regulations and recommendations.
• Perform elution of 99mTc generators, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, and conduct hot lab responsibilities.
• Label and record required documentation using aseptic techniques.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals according to department protocol and state/federal regulations.
• Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
• Ensure patient safety during and after exams.
• Auxiliary tasks may include scheduling patients and performing venipuncture.
• Perform quality control and assurance procedures, including daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual procedures on various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
• Identify, document, and report sub-optimum results to supervisor.
• Maintain required record keeping and documentation for all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via PACS.
• Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
• Process billing via RIS.
• Perform nuclear imaging/counting procedures according to department protocols and computer acquisition and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine OR graduate of a two-year accredited school in an Allied Health Program OR certification from a CAHEA approved Nuclear Medicine Technologist Training Program
• Registered Technologist credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T(N) (ARRT)] in good standing OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
• Current state licensure (RL)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications

• One year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• Y90 experience
• Excellent IV skills

Physical Requirements

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
• Requires exposure to radioactive material.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $54.00 per hour. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of the Cleveland Clinic's comprehensive benefits package. For more details, please refer to the job description.
