Nuclear Medicine Technologist ($10,000 Sign-on Bonus New Hire 1.0 FTE)

About the role

This position requires an enhanced knowledge in Nuclear Medicine, specific expertise and skills for maintaining a safe Nuc Med environment, and knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and physics relevant to patient care. The role involves providing imaging services and patient transportation, explaining procedures to patients and families, upholding safety standards, following protocols, and ensuring quality service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe Nuc Med environment daily
• Provide imaging services and patient transportation
• Communicate thoroughly with patients and families
• Uphold safety standards related to assigned position
• Follow established protocols, practices, and guidelines
• Ensure adherence to JCAHO standards
• Prioritize customer and patient satisfaction using AIDET principles
• Collaborate with other departments, modalities, and personnel
• Practice I Care principles for proper patient identification and communication
• Practice good stewardship with supplies, equipment, and department resources
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals according to policy and procedure
• Practice nuclear medicine pharmaceutical safety
• Follow department policies related to radiopharmaceutical safety
• Perform nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with facility regulations
• Correlate clinical history with exams being performed
• Participate in Nuc Med Quality Control (QC) and document all activities
• Control and maintain inventory and supplies
• Communicate problems and supply needs as required
• Understand and utilize care, cleaning, and maintenance of imaging, transport, and office supplies, equipment, and software
• Instruct and supervise student technologists and new employees as assigned
• Facilitate and coordinate services for assigned area
• Monitor the area of expertise and imaging department needs
