Nuclear Medicine Tech PRN
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare services. This role involves performing general nuclear medicine and PET CT exams while ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to radiation safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring high-quality care.
- Receive, calibrate, log, administer, and monitor the decay of radioactive isotopes in compliance with policies and radiation safety practices.
- Provide radiation safety support in the event of a radiation incident or spill.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records of patients' medical information.
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure all exams are completed as scheduled.
- Inform and educate patients about procedures, answer questions, and provide discharge instructions.
- Interact professionally with co-workers, physicians, patients, and family members.
- Maintain all required licenses, certifications, and accreditations.
- Adhere to facility ICARE values and prepare patients for examinations or treatments.
- Demonstrate technical skills and knowledge in handling radioactive materials and waste disposal in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Apply knowledge of human growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
- Current registry by CNMT or ARRT (N) is required.
- BLS certification required.
- PET CT experience preferred.
