Job Summary
Provides proven and documented proficiency in all Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures. Instructs and assists in the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Works effectively and harmoniously with medical staff, staff, students, interns, and patients. Acts as a resource for NM and PET/CT technical and assorted issues.
Experience Description
- SPECT imaging experience and basic knowledge of NRC/Agreement State requirements is required.
- Minimum three years of nuclear medicine experience is required.
Educational Background
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred.
Special Skills
- Ability and demonstrated competence in IV insertion.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nuclear medicine exams including but not limited to techniques, principles, equipment, and rationale behind the procedures performed.
Licenses and Certifications
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) certification is required within six months of hire.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within three months of hire / transfer date.
