About the role

Beacon Health System is hiring a Full-time day shift Nuclear Med Tech at Kalamazoo Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. Be a Beacon. Make a Difference.

What You’ll Do

• Administers and prepares appropriate radiopharmaceuticals to achieve optimal exams.
• Operates computers and scanning equipment to obtain optimal images based on radiologist approval.
• Responds to emergency calls in appropriate time.
• Completes therapies and consultations.
• Maintains strict patient exam records for daily and quarterly procedures.
• Meets standards of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to demonstrate appropriate low-level waste disposal records.
• Enters data in exam result fields in Radiology Information System.
• Knows how to appropriately use dose management system in Syntrac.
• Operates PACS and Nighthawk to review and edit studies.
• Follows all hospital radiation safety regulations to ensure patient and personal safety.
• Wears radiation badges at all times and submits for monthly testing.
• Wears long sleeve/lab coat at all times when handling radioactive material.
• Performs daily and weekly tests on equipment as required by state and NRC.
• Completes other job-related duties and projects as assigned.

What You Bring

You bring basic knowledge of pharmaceutical preparation, computer acquisition, and theory of nuclear medicine.

Required Qualifications

• Successful registration with the ARRT (N), NMTCB (CNMT), or Indiana State Department of Health certification.
• Board certification from: ARRT (N) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), CNMT (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or Indiana State Department of Health.
• Up to one (1) year experience as Nuclear Medicine Technologist is preferred.
