Pac's Position Function and Duties

  • Ensures all computed and digital images are properly archived on Synpase Scan documents in a timely manner
  • Pushes images to other Hospitals
  • Burns CD's and enters tech notes into each completed exam
  • Performs Nuclear Exams
  • Reviews Patient history and Physicians orders
  • Edits patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation
  • Orders, prepares, administers, stores, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards
  • Maintains patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
  • Prepares equipment and supplies and selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
  • Monitors safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues including repositioning patient and repeating procedure
  • Ensures timely reporting of exams
  • Charges exams correctly
  • Prints schedules and checks patient orders
  • Confirms patient identity with two identifiers

  • Attends and participates in a minimum of 50% department staff meetings and signs off on review of 100% department staff meeting minutes
  • Completes all required annual education on or before the due date

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimal physical effort required with occasional light lifting to a maximum of 25 pounds; stoops; and pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers
  • Ability to effectively manage considerable mental stress
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and convey information in a clear, concise and accurate manner
  • Familiarity with computer and other business machines

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist Program
  • Experience: 5 Years experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Job License and Certification: Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or certified as a Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Must be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
