Nuclear Command, Control & Communications SME

About the Role

As an operations analyst, you’ll lead evaluations and management assessments to deliver solutions for complex problems related to strategic deterrence and nuclear integration. This role involves leveraging your expertise in architecture, operations, integration, and assurance of Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems to enhance the resiliency and survivability of NC3 infrastructure. You’ll provide analytical support and insights to improve leadership decision-making processes, strengthen interagency cohesion, and ensure preparedness for evolving global threats.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team in conducting technical and programmatic analyses related to NC3 resiliency, survivability, and modernization.
• Provide high-level insight into NC3 systems supporting national strategic deterrence.
• Assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies aligned with Air Force NC3 priorities.
• Collaborate with senior government and partner organization leadership, as well as other subject matter experts (SMEs).
• Support senior leaders in shaping national defense strategy.
• Enhance leadership decision-making processes through analytical support and insights.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience providing technical expertise in NC3 enterprise systems.
• Experience conducting technical and programmatic analyses related to NC3 resiliency, survivability, and modernization.
• Experience supporting senior leaders in shaping national defense strategy.
• Knowledge of National Command Authority and NC2 structure, including policy, deployment, and operational frameworks supporting national security and nuclear deterrence.
• Understanding of Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and C2 relationships.
• Ability to assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Ability to collaborate with senior government and partner organization leadership, as well as other SMEs.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Mathematics, or an NC3 technology field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S. Air Force Headquarters A10, Joint Staff, or National or Interagency-level strategic missions.
• Experience supporting STRATCOM, NC3, or nuclear C2.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical discipline.
• Completion of Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA), NC2, Nuclear Surety, and Defense Nuclear Weapons School training.

Pay

Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:

• Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
